Welcome The Life

Have you ever thought back to when you were younger and what your hopes and dreams were to see how differently your life turned out? I always imagined being a city girl who lived in a suburb where SUV’s and yoga were the top things you found. I would cruise in my Land Rover to work shifts at the hospital and work it out to get off early to go to soccer games. My life isn’t how I ever imagined it. It’s way better. I live in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere Ohio. Target and Starbucks are 20 minutes away. Summers are spent outside and you have to leave 20 minutes earlier than anticipated just in case there’s a tractor on the road. It’s not the life I ever imagined but it’s the life that I have been given and I’m so grateful for it.

If you’re new here I’m Lindsey. I work for a non prof as a Regional Director specializing in Federal and Education disability policy. I like to think of myself as the Olivia Pope of advocacy but I’m nowhere near that powerful and smooth yet. I believe every person has a story that is worth telling I love sitting with parents of children with disabilities and hearing their stories. It’s my favorite part of my job.

I live in Northwest Ohio with my husband and two children. My son has severe disabilities which is why I got into advocacy. When starting our journey of having a child with disabilities I realized that there was a lot of secret society and a thought process of if that person gets this service then my child doesn’t and that’s not the case at all. I want parents to be able to find access to the things their child needs to make it easier on the their family. I never want them to feel guilty for using a service they need.

I also love style. I fully believe that there is an added confidence to take over the world when you feel good about what you’re wearing. With my love of style I also LOVE a good sale. So it’s why I decided to try Like.To.Know.It. and I got in. I love posting finds.

Thank you for being here. I’m so grateful you’re on this journey with me.

and for that I am grateful, Lindsey
